An unusual serpent
Bakelite jewellery was most popular during the Art Deco period, and was used as a way to dress up clothing or an outfit. Dr. Leo Bakeland invented Bakelite in the early 1900s and discovered that it wouldn't melt! Many jewellers used Bakelite, such as Chanel and Van Cleef and Arpels.
